Can it get any worse for the Vikings?

It isn’t bad enough the Minnesota Vikings are having a bad season. They were the team that many thought would win the NFC North. They got ride of Randy Moss, perhaps not the best move? They just had the lovely boat party scandal, and now it looks like their team leader Daunte Culpepper may be out for the season. He hasn’t been doing that great this year, and the numbers illustrate.

Daunte Culpepper – 2005

Thru Week 6 Last Week
Comp% 62.4% 74.2%
Yards/G 251.2 280.0
Yards/Att 6.9 9.0
TD/INT 4/12 2/0
Rating 62.8 123.1

* But in his last two games against the Panthers, Culpepper has really struggled. He’s thrown seven interceptions and just two touchdowns en route to an NFL worst 48.7 rating against the Panthers since 2001.

Lowest QB Rating Vs Panthers – Since 2001
(Min 50 Attempts)

Daunte Culpepper 48.7

* And despite a good week 7 performance, Culpepper’s 2005 QB rating is nearly 40 points lower than last season, one of the largest drop offs since the merger.

Largest QB Rating Decline – Since 1970
(Min 150 Attempts both seasons)
