Lineups setting tip

The serious business of setting PlayTheGame lineups is upon us again with a slew of matches scheduled for the weekend. Many managers prefer to set their teams for both Saturday and Sunday in advance (they can do this by clicking the appropriate day link at the top of their manage team screen) but they need to be careful and heed the following warning to avoid disappointment:

Any changes made to your team for any day of the season will override all changes made to future lineups. If, for example, you changed your lineup for October 1 and then change your lineup for September 30, your lineup for September 30 will be applied to all future lineups.

Andrew Byrne:

When are players updated for their position eligibility?

Two of my players , eboue and nosworthy, need updating RM and CB respectively and i am losing valuable points because of this.

PlayTheGame: Players' position eligibility is reviewed and updated on a regular basis. PlayTheGame is a squad-based game and as such every team within the game has options.

phil:

I think the stats options leave something to be desired. The overall player list gives the total stats for the season to date - by far the most useful way of looking at them. Yet when you look at your own team's stats, this option is not provided. Even more so, if I want to look at a competitor's team to find out why he has more than double my score in Defence, I would have to take a pencil and scroll through either the overall player list or the date links on his team page to find out which players are getting those big scores for him. Can you consider introducing this?

Pete Husky:

I like the "Team stats" table but I want to be able to see at player level match by match whether players are getting better or worse.

I'm not going to select each date one at a time!

A table that had the player, and the scoring category as row headings, and the match dates as column headings is what we need. How about it?

DM Osbon:

Too many players are being missed from squads that have already scored points...Elano & Johnson from Man City are just two examples.

Not good enough!

PlayTheGame: Our player list is under constant review and we add players as they emerge. For more on this please see this post:

Pete:

Am enjoying playing the game so far, thanks.

Several times in this blog, you've mentioned that players' position eligibility gets reviewed regularly. Can you take a look at Elano Blumer's setting as he has played the last three games for City as a Central Midfielder, but is still not available for selection as CM.

Many thanks,

Pete.

Will Oxley:

Positional updates:

N'Zogbia - Left back
Nolan - Forward
