In yet another instalment of our regular "game intelligence" posts, here is a list of the most transfered players across the game over the past two weeks. It is difficult to ascertain what to make of the names on the list other than to suggest that they are subjects of speculation (an equal number of managers had to agree to these players being transfered in and out so the list is hardly a consensus one way or the other).
In any case, here it is:
Nicolas Anelka, Bolton Wanderers
Florent Malouda, Chelsea
Gareth Bale, Tottenham Hotspur
Alexander Hleb, Arsenal
John Arne Riise, Liverpool
Frank Lampard, Chelsea
Didier Drogba, Chelsea
Edwin van der Sar, Manchester United
David Bentley, Blackburn Rovers
Petr Cech, Chelsea
Rio Ferdinand, Manchester United
Dimitar Berbatov, Tottenham Hotspur
Emmanuel Eboue, Arsenal
David Dunn, Blackburn Rovers
Yakubu Ayegbeni, Everton
Benni McCarthy, Blackburn Rovers
Roque Santa Cruz, Blackburn Rovers

The most transferred players seem to be big-name players who have suffered from injury or poor form (Bale, Hleb, Drogba, Malouda, Cech, Eboue, McCarthy). I suspect you're seeing managers who are trying to grab a bargain for the later months of the year.
