It may be unbecoming of the self-styled brainiest of fantasy football games, but we are inclined to blow our own trumpet (again, some may suggest). The reason for this latest outpouring of self-praise is the release of the new Statistics page (under the Research tab) within the game. It is not overstating the case to suggest that it is the only searchable, sortable and up-to-date Premier League statistics database anywhere, nevermind a working research tool for anyone playing the game.
As such, finding a replacement for an injured squad member has never been easier. Select the position required, the time period of interest, the statistical category sought and whether the list should be limited to available players (those with strong club affiliations can limit results by team as well) before clicking Search.
The PTG database also includes last season's statistics so a historical comparison is also possible.

Brilliant. Just a pity I can't use it since I'm very happy with my squad :) Good to see minutes also added to the stats page. Great job!

Owen Hargreaves in defence? i'm certain Fergie played him there a few days ago... And am i Champion yet? I feel like I deserve it for having Kasper Schmeichal taken away from me...
