Alan, David, Erik and Roy

The first weekend of Premier League games since the end of the January transfer window saw four players make their respective club debuts.

In no particular order (except alphabetically, by first name), the new starters are:

Alan Hutton - Centre Back (Tottenham Hotspur)
David Murphy - Centre Back (Birmingham City)
Erik Nevland - Forward (Fulham)
Roy Carroll - Goalkeeper (Derby County)

These players were added around 14:30 GMT on February 4th.

Kev:

Alan Hutton should be a right back surely!

PTG: Alan Hutton has now been made a Right Back. Apologies for the error.

alan:

Didn't Alan Hutton play at right back for Spurs?

Sam Crispin:

Alan Hutton plays at right back, and that's where he made his debut for Spurs. Surely he should be eligible to play there in this game?

hosse 14:

murphy played left back for hibs!

PTG: Murphy was added as a Centre Back in error. He now has eligibility as a Left Back.

Sid:

Isn't david murphy a left back?

PTG: Murphy was added as a Centre Back in error. He now has eligibility as a Left Back

Tom Grammer:

There is a real dearth of left backs in this league - can you not convert some utility left midfielders.......

PTG: Only if they have started a Premier League game in Left Midfield (substitute appearances do not count towards eligibility)

Sid and his youngbloods:

Is david murphy not a left back? Will Steinson from bolton have right back status added?

PTG: David Murphy is now eligible as a Left Back. Gretnar Rafn Steinsson is now eligible as a Right Back. Both players were added as Centre Backs in error.

Ryan O'Sullivan:

Surely Phil Bardsley is a RB, no?
Played there his entire Utd. career and played there against Liverpool on debut for Sunderland

PTG: Phil Bardsley is now eligible as a Right Back. He was added as a Centre Back in error.

Gerard:

While we're on the subject... didn't alan hutton fill in at left back at the weekend?

PTG: Alan Hutton started the match at Right Back and so is given eligibility in this position. If he starts a match for Tottenham in the league at Left Back then he will be given eligibility in that position.

ash:

what about gilberto for spurs

PTG: Once Gilberto has made his debut for Tottenham in the Premier League, he will be added to PlayTheGame
