Hallelujah for Lampard

With all the talk of Christmas Number One's we thought we'd take a quick look at the top PTG performers. Man United obviously have a couple of games in hand, but for the games played so far....

In defence you'll be glad to have John Terry (apart from his recent red card) or Boswinga at the back for their clean sheet count, but it's Bolton defenders Taylor and Steinsson who have provided the most goals and assists from a defensive standpoint (although not necessarily from defence!). In the general defensive scoring category, Portsmouth goalie David James has racked up the most points.

In the midfield and attacking positions, Anelka has scored the most goals, Malbranque gets the most assists and Alonso has accrued the most Successful Passes.

There are 18 players who have played the full 1620 minutes, but only Carragher and Reina are in the list from the big four clubs. Unsurprisingly Liverpool players have clocked up the greatest number of points so far.

Overall though, the most valuable player in PTG so far, and therefore our Christmas Number One is Frank Lampard who has played 1602 minutes, scoring 5, setting up 4, from 768 Successful Passes.

Congratulations to Frank, we're sure this award will make his Christmas all the more special.

You can look at all the player statistics and rankings so far under the 'Players' tab.

And that's your lot from us for 2008. The blog takes a bit of a breather now until January 5th, but PTG customer services remain open 24 hours a day (even over Christmas) should you feel the need to get in contact, otherwise we wish you all a very Merry Christmas, a fantastic start to the new year and we'll see you all again in 2009.

talon1579:

The 14th Jan fixture of Man U vs Wigan doesn't appear to be in the system.

PTG - Thanks for pointing this out - we will get this updated asap.

Bill:

On your fixtures listings for January you don't currently show Man U as playing Wigan on Wed 14th January.

Best regards, great game and Happy New Year.

PTG - Thanks for pointing this out Bill - we will get this updated asap.

JC:

Would Simpson become avaliable to pick up after his move to WBA? since WBA is lacking of FW, this move appears to give him a lot more playing times. Or do we have to wait until his 1st appearance for WBA?

PTG - It is likely that Jay Simpson will be added to PTG in the first batch of transferred players on January 7th. For more details take a look at the 'January Transfer Window' post.
