New Player - January 12th

One new player has been added to PTG on January 9th 2009, however the new addition is a player who made his debut at the weekend rather than a transfer window signing.

The new player is Joshua Walker of Middlesbrough who made his Premier League debut against local rivals Sunderland on Saturday.

The player was added at around 17:03 GMT on January 12th and is subject to the usual 48 hour notice period.

I transferred (out of contract pickup) B Ivanovic for Jonny Evans on Sunday afternoon about 315pm. The transfer went through at 315 but i was unable to select Evans for the 4pm game - any reason why?

PTG - Any players signed within 5 minutes of the days first fixture, or after this time will not be added to your squad until the following day. The Wigan - Tottenham match began at 13:30 GMT and that is why you were not able to select Evans for the 4pm match. This constraint is stated at the top of the 'Out-of-Contract' page.

Liberty United:

I posted a player exchange on 12/01/09. Yet the process date appears as 27/02/08. I tried this three times all with the same result. Any reason why this is the case?

PTG - Thank you for bringing this to our attention we are in the process of amending this.

Albert Riera has played for Liverpool on the right wing, is it possible for you to add RM to his position?

PTG - We have had a look at Riera's starting poistions and can find no record of him starting as a RM. We did find that he has started as a Forward though, so we have added FW eligibility.

To clarify

So if anonymous (above) had bought Jonny Evans at 13.24pm then the transfer would have gone through OK?

is that correct?

Therefore, if I bought a player at 7.54pm on a Tuesday night and there was only one 8pm game - he would be allowed to play.

Sorry to reduce this to such simplicity but I've been caught outwith this one myself

PTG - We have checked the technicalities and you actually have until 2 minutes before the first kick off of the day to sign a player. This has been reflected in the text at the top of the out-of-contract page.

So to put this in an example if you signed a player at 13.27 on a day when the first matched kicked off at 13.30 then the transfer would go through.

Please be aware that the cut off time is obviously governed by the time set on our system.
