New Player - 4th March

One new player has been added to PlayTheGame on March 4th 2009. Fran Merida made his debut in the Premier League for Arsenal on Tuesday 3rd March.

Merida is being added to PTG player lists as is normal practice for players coming through the ranks and playing in a league match.

The player was added at around 17:03 GMT on March 4th and is subject to the usual 48 hour notice period.

Hi,

What is the rule regarding assists given from shots that hit the crossbar?

Danny Murphy hasn't been given an assist yesterday, but no opposition player touched the ball after his shot hit the bar.

The official Premier League site has given him an assist.

PTG - Under the rules of PlayTheGame, assists are not awarded if the ball takes a deflection from the post or bar.

Hi there,

Shouldn't Danny Murphy have been awarded an assist for setting up Fulhams second goal against Bolton on Saturday. It was his shot that deflected of the bar and felll to Simon Davies without touching another player.
